Fino Sherry

Sherry offers a diverse range of styles, each with its own unique character. Fino Sherry is a bone-dry, pale wine from Jerez region, Spain, crafted from Palomino grapes.

The unique climate, chalky soils, and centuries-old winemaking traditions make Jerez the perfect environment for crafting this iconic wine deeply rooted in Spanish culture and heritage.

Aged under a layer of "flor" yeast, it has a light body and distinct notes of almonds, herbs, and sometimes slight salinity. Known for its crisp and refreshing profile, it’s popular in Spain yet less common globally.

Sherry is fortified by adding strong neutral alcohol distilled from grapes (brandy, to be precise) to a fully or partially fermented wine base, raising the alcohol content from 5–10% to 15–21%.

You can often substitute Fino Sherry for white wine in dishes where its unique characteristics enhance the flavors. Fino Sherry’s dry, crisp profile and nutty undertones make it a great replacement in dishes like risottos, seafood, sushi and soups. However, its distinctive taste may alter the flavor slightly, so it’s best for recipes that welcome bold, savory notes. It’s less ideal in light, delicate dishes where subtlety is key.

Pair Fino Sherry with tapas, olives, seafood, or cured ham for an authentic experience. A true gem for lovers of unique, fortified wines!
